Unfortunately there is no libapache2-mod-bw for Ubuntu, so limiting bandwidth used by apache isn’t possible by default. The Video Disk Recorder VDR is a free, non-commercial project from Klaus Schmidinger to create a digital video recorder using standard PC components. It is possible to receive, record and playback digital TV broadcasts compatible with the DVB standard. I’m running VMWare Server on a dual core laptop with Ubuntu. I was finding the guest clock on my Windows XP guest was running fast. Since I use the Windows guest for running Outlook, I found my meeting reminders were appearing hours early. The problem appears to be due to cpu frequency scaling.
